PopCorn

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. The weekend turned out pretty nice out here. It got a bit on the warmer side but it was nice since we were able to do some much needed yard work.

We did you to Tanner's Marketplace in Reno. It was a bit of a disappointment. It was at the Reno Livestock Arena which is where they hold all the rodeo events and animal auctions. It was in a small warehouse with low ceilings and bad air circulation. We paid $8 in admissions fees. It wasn't too bad but I thought there would be a lot more vintage things. I bought a couple of crotchet/knitting magazines. One from 1946 and the other from 1963 for $2. We bought this cute popcorn maker. It came with for different types of popcorn, the popping oil, and a can of flavoring. Jesse was really happy. It made his day.

There were a ton of hats and purses but I didn't have any cash (again). I know. Either way a lot of the hats were over-priced . There were a few purses I was temped to buy but I decided to wait on it.  Afterwards we went to the casinos in downtown. It was really busy. Then we figured out why: the women's bowling tournament was going on last weekend. It was super crowded. The Husband seems to think I was having anxiety because of the crowds. We decided to leave since I was feeling tired and bored.

I leave you with some pics from this weekend. I really like Instagram. It's pretty awesome.

    1. I've had good luck at Junkee's. It's thrift store/antique store. It has great vintage and antiques at a decent price. It's a few blocks up from The Virginia Street Antique Mall. They have nice things too but a bit more pricey.
There were a lot more old hotel signs but I didn't get them all.

    1. I know. I'm an actual minority up here. There are no carnicerias or panaderias. Luckily I pass for white otherwise I think people would be more prejudice towards me.

I hope I can take more pics of the old motel signs in Reno. There are a ton. Those saddle shoes gave me ampollas. I should have worn looser socks.

  5. That cherry cardi is too cute (and fun!) for words. I have a red and black cardi that I picked up a few years back from Forever 21 that has cherries around the collar and button area down the front, but have yet to find one like yours with an all over cherry print. Love it - encouragement to keep up the hunt! :)

Thank you very much for all of your recent blog comment, dear gal, I sincerely appreciate them. Regarding your hair, if you braid it wet (applying some kind of styling product with hold to it before you start braiding, such as a medium to firm hold hairspray), and then shellac it with hairspray (or the like) once you've done the braids, you may find that they're able to stay together without to many pieces jutting out.

Wishing you a stellar Monday & week ahead,
    ♥ Jessica

    1. You're very welcome. I found the cardi at Torrid store. I love it. It has a lace back too so it's wearable year round.
